Kellie Pederson’s no-hitter leads Hazen to win | Softball

Liberty 3, Kennedy Catholic 2

Liberty edged Kennedy Catholic 3-2 in a non-league softball game Wednesday.

The Patriots (1-4) went up 3-0 after three innings and held on to the lead despite a late push by Kennedy.

Sophomore Taylor Couty pitched five innings for the win. She went 2-2 with a double at the plate. Sophomore Denise Blohowiak earned the save.

Lindsey Linden went 1-3 with a run and an RBI.

Hazen 19, Tyee 0

Hazen topped Tyee easily, 19-0 Wednesday.

The Highlanders (3-2, 3-0) got a no hitter from Kellie Pederson. Pederson went 3-3 at the plate.

Roxanne Paz went 2-4 with four steals. Savannah Hilt went 3-4 with six RBI’s and a steal. Chelsea Moorhead went 2-3 with a triple, a home run and four RBI’s.

Highline 15, Renton 0

Renton fell to Highline 15-0 Wednesday.

The Indians (1-1, 1-1) couldn’t find any offense success in the outing and face Foster next.

Mount Rainier 12, Lindbergh 0

Lindbergh lost to Mount Rainier 12-0 Wednesday.

The Eagles (1-2, 1-2) face Hazen next.
