Liberty’s Eric Peterson drafted in 28th round by Kansas City

After leading the Liberty baseball team to state and earning the KingCo 3A/2A MVP honors, Eric Peterson’s season hit another high note Wednesday when the Kansas City Royals drafted the infielder.

The Royals selected the 6-foot-3 Peterson in the 28th round, with the 842nd overall pick.

Peterson has committed to play baseball for the University of Washington next season and before the draft he was unsure whether he would attend college or accept a contract.
