Renton falls to Timberline in preliminary round of state tournament

Renton fell to Timberline 30-7 in the preliminary round of the 3A state playoffs.
Darien Irby scored on a six-yard rush in the second quarter to take the Indians into halftime tied 7-7, but Timberline pulled away in the third quarter.
The Indians finish the season 5-5 after reaching the preliminary round of the state tournament for the second year in a row.
