Renton Police are seeking witnesses to a car vs pedestrian accident Sunday night that left one man dead.

The traffic unit responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian fatality collision shortly after 8:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Houser Way. The victim, a 42-year-old male was not in a crosswalk when struck and the driver, a male in his 30’s was taken into custody for Investigation of Vehicular Homicide.

The victim’s name has not been released.

According to police, the suspect stayed on scene and was cooperative, though he showed signs of impairment.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have reason to believe there were several other vehicles that may have seen the collision.
