Police release name of 21-year-old man who was found dead in a stairway.

Police are investigating the homicide case that occurred on Monday, April 10.

UPDATE (April 18): Renton police released the name of the victim who was found dead in an staircase on April 10. The victim’s name was Kalin Carter Lubben. He went by the alias “Makaiel Blackwell.”

Police is asking anyone with any information about this case to call detective Pete Montemayor at 425-430-7528 (reference case #17-4584).

ORIGINAL STORY: Renton police is investigating the death of a 21-year-old Renton man who was shot on Monday, April 10.

According to a press release, the man was found dead, lying in a stairway around 11 p.m. on April 10 at Sunset View Apartments at 2101 SW Sunset Blvd.

Investigators later determined the man was shot sometime around 5:30 p.m. but his body was only discovered later. He was killed from a single gunshot wound.

This is an ongoing investigation, and detectives are still interviewing witnesses and canvassing for evidence.
