Lindbergh High School’s Stephanie Martz, girls cross country, was selected as the Renton Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week for Oct. 19.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Math and sports medicine
Q: What other activities do you participate in?
A: I enjoy reading and watching movies.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Mr. Rettmann and my parents — who push me to work hard
Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?
A: I like to hang out with my teammates before and after and talk about the race.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: I don’t have one in particular at the moment.

“Stephanie recently took first place at the division meet and she is undefeated in our regular season schedule. She is a team captain and a great student. She worked very hard over the summer putting in a good mileage base for this season. She has improved her time each race this season. She has particularly worked hard to improve her running form to become more efficient. Her hard work, commitment, and great attitude are contributing to her success. She has a great chance of placing at the state meet.” — Coach Jef Rettmann
