Lindbergh High School’s Apelu (AJ) Sellem, football, was selected as the Renton Reporter’s Male Athlete of the Week for Nov. 16.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Language Arts

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I enjoy track.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My football coaches, mom and dad.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I do a prayer on the field before the game and dance with my teammates after a win.

“AJ was voted team captain this football season by his teammates. He is a team player first and is always there for his teammates. He works extremely hard on the field and in the classroom. He is everything we want in a player in our program. AJ was also voted First Team All-League for offense (offensive lineman) and 2nd team All-League for defense (defensive line). He also received an All-State nomination.”
