The Renton and Lindbergh girls basketball teams are headed to a showdown tonight and only one of their seasons will continue.
The Indians and Eagles meet tonight in the third round of the district tournament, with the loser headed home.
Both teams have a win and loss so far this postseason, setting up tonight’s match-up.
Renton arrived at tonight’s game by beating Sammamish 41-34 in the opening round, but falling to Franklin Pierce 54-44 on Saturday.
No statistics were available from either game.
Lindbergh took the other route, dropping their opening round game to North Kitsap 56-30 and then besting Curtis 49-30 in the second round.
Against North Kitsap, the Eagles kept it close in the first period, but could not battle back after the Vikings topped them 20-8 in the second period and 12-3 in the third.
Things started shaky against Bremerton too, with the Knights winning the first period 8-7, but Lindbergh battled back and the Eagles taking a 20-14 lead into the half and then riding a 19-9 fourth quarter to victory.
Elle Watts led all scorers with 17. Aajua Brooks added 13 in the win.
Renton and Lindbergh square off at 7:45 p.m. tonight at Curtis High School in Puyallup in a loser-out game.
