The Hazen wrestling team took second at the Redmond team dual tournament Dec. 3. The Highlanders lost 46-30 to Kentlake, then beat Foss 57-18, Redmond 51-24 and Federal Way 42-31. Lindbergh placed ninth at the Cleveland Invitational Tournament with 71.5 points.

Mark Garcia won by pin and major decision before narrowly falling to North Kitsap’s Jake Sievers in the finals at 120 pounds.

Luke Garcia won two matches by pin and another with an 11-0 decision before losing 2-1 to Roosevelt’s Jacob Sands in the finals at 126 pounds.

Thomas Richards also won a match at 160 pounds when he beat Roosevelt’s Quillan Robinson on an 11-0 decision in the consolation bracket.

Joey Hernandez went 1-2 at 182 pounds. He beat North Kitsap’s Craig McGinty by pin.

Trevon Russell went 1-2 at 220 pounds, beating Rainier Beach’s David Lu by pin.
