Liberty’s Chandler Jenkins will play for Air Force | Football

Liberty senior running back Chandler Jenkins signed his letter of intent to play football at the Air Force Academy in Colorado.

“This is about the opportunity,” Jenkins said. “I didn’t want to look back and regret not choosing Air Force. It’s a relief, a life goal that you can check off now.”

Jenkins rushed for 1,809 yards and scored 29 total touchdowns this season for the Patriots. He led Liberty to a third straight 3A state tournament appearance.

The Patriots made it all the way to the 3A state title game Jenkins’ junior year.

“I think it will really accelerate what he can be,” said Liberty football coach Steve Valach. “I think it’s a great decision… He made a choice that’s going to give him lots of choices later in life.”

Jenkins led the Patriots’s basketball team in scoring at 15.9 points per game this season.
