Liberty beat Mercer Island 35-14 in the KingCo opener on Sept. 19.

The Patriots put the game out of reach with 28 points in a huge second quarter. Mercer Island didn’t score until the fourth, when they put up 14 points.

Greg Ericksen had another huge game, running for 137 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. He scored from 56 and 45 yards out.

Trey Wheeler completed nine of 18 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Marcel Bell rushed three times for seven yards and a touchdown. John Kirksey and Richard Crespo each caught touchdown receptions.

On defense, Malcolm Dike intercepted two passes and Turner Chatterton intercepted one. Eric Etter collected a sack and a tackle for loss.

Liberty is tied with Juanita (2-1, 1-0) for first in the KingCo.
