RENTON REPORTER EDITORIAL: All hail Renton High School

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of anything is, practically speaking, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And so it is with Renton High School, that architecturally wonderful building on South Second Street where generations of Rentonites have learned their readin’, writin’ and rithmatic’.

But it’s not just Renton High grads who should revel in the celebration. The friendships that were formed there and the lessons learned have probably shaped this city and its people more than any other high school in the city.

The Centennial next Saturday promises to fill this venerable school with memories, some tears and some retold stories (true and false).  That evening alumni and certainly others will gather to celebrate the school and honor some outstanding Indians who have made an impact across all manner of professions and endeavors.

By the way there is still room at the banquet that night.
