A mission of RentonReporter.com: To help local businesses succeed

Recently there has been some concern raised by businesses about the Renton Reporter’s impending change from a twice-weekly publication to once a week. Let me assure you that this in no way minimizes our ability to reach our targeted audience. Combined with our Web site, which is gaining in popularity, we will be able to provide another media choice.

Currently, we deliver on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Beginning in January we will be a Friday-only publication. Many people are now getting their news from Web sites, and also information on products, services and where to shop. In this era, it is essential that we provide our advertisers with a diverse mix of advertising options. Over the years, we have written thousands of stories about our local businesses, not only because we have some great business owners here in Renton but also because we are here to help them succeed.

Advertising online provides a productive partner to our print edition and can lead the reader right to the business’ Web site. If a business does not have a web site, we can provide one. An advertiser can choose where they advertise on the site. For instance, if a business is looking for sports-minded readers, they can have an ad on the front page of the sports section.

This week we are out with our Internet team, selling ads for our Web site. If you would like to set up an appointment to hear more about the advertising opportunities to help your business grow, you can contact us at 425-255-3484.

By going weekly, we will be able to spend more time writing stories for our web site, as well as uploading photos and videos. We are now putting breaking news on this site; our readers will have information about their city almost as fast as it happens. So whether you have children in the Renton School District or want to know about the fire truck down your street, we’re open 24/7 at RentonReporter.com.

For those of you who use the Internet, I think you will find the change a positive one. Those who are not cyber friendly will still find much of what they are looking for with our combination of features and advertisement in the Friday edition.

As always, our team at the Renton Reporter will endeavor to bring you the most comprehensive mix of advertising, news and feature articles both in paper and online.
