ROBERT (BOB) HARVEY POWELL

Robert (Bob) Harvey Powell, born February 6, 1929 in Central City, Nebraska to parents Robert Carl Powell and Edna Louise Light Powell, passed on November 14, 2019. He was laid to rest at the Tahoma National cemetery with military honors.

During his teen years he helped work the family wheat ranch in eastern Washington graduating from Pomeroy High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War then worked as an electrician and later as a manufacturer’s rep for Klein Tools.

Bob met Nan Leone Mariott at a church function, three days later he proposed and 3 months later were married in the Cardston, Alberta LDS temple. They made their home in Eugene, OR later moving to Renton, WA and enjoyed 66 years together until Nan passed in 2017.

He is survived by Robert Steven Powell (Peggy) of Texas, Janelle Alameda of Bellevue and Jane Hanson (Mark) of Kent, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Bob loved the outdoors – camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. He had a beautiful bass voice and loved singing barbershop with the Harmony Kings Chorus.

Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends and barbershop brothers. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to fix anything, commitment to his family, and his faith.
