Marie Diambri

Marie Diambri

May 3, 1923 – January 12, 2010

The eldest of three children, Marie was born in Denver, Colorado to Harry and Leone (Klessig) Miller. After spending some time in Wisconsin, the family moved to Seattle, where Marie graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1941. She met and married Victor Diambri in 1946, and settled with her husband in Renton. The couple had one daughter, Vicki. Although Marie and Victor would eventually divorce, they remained on close terms until his death in 2005. After the divorce, Marie lived first in Kent, and then Covington, Washington. Marie enjoyed traveling, and has visited all of the 48 continental states, either by car or train. In 2006, she went to Alaska by cruise ship, and, the next year, fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking a cruise to Hawaii. She also enjoyed rockhounding and playing word games and puzzles. In her eighties, she was given her first computer, and discovered the joys of digital gaming; she especially enjoyed Mah Jong solitaire. Marie particularly loved to do sewing and craft work, making everything from doll clothes to embroidered pillows. She sold many of her creations in craft bazaars in south King County. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Diambri, of Renton, Washington, and by her sisters Nicky Talbert, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jayne Baierski, of Placerville, California. A memorial dinner will be held on the evening of May 3, which would have been her 87th birthday.
