Adeline Q. Craw

Adeline Quinella Craw was born December 13, 1920 in Colome, South Dakota and passed on March 4, 2011 in Renton, Washington. The eldest of six children she often took care of her younger brothers and sisters while her parents struggled to survive the Great Depression. She pursued her education and proudly graduated from high in 1940. On May 20, 1940 she married Roy Craw in Valentine, Nebraska. After moving to Seattle, Washington they started a family and then settled comfortably in Yakima raising three sons there. Adeline worked at the canneries in Yakima but then went on to business school and began working at Pacific Power and Light where she stayed for 23 years. She was married to Roy for 38 years. She was also married to Warren Hazen spending 12 happy years together. After retiring she spent winters in Arizona with many friends and family enjoying life. Adeline enjoyed oil painting with her sister Anna Mae and her daughter in law Pat. The painted saws, clocks and canvases are family treasures now. She also made quilts, scrapbooks and provided a very accurate book of family history. She was an excellent cook, often made apple pie and thought of opening an apple only pastry and pie bakery. Cards were another passion for her and many late nights were enjoyed together with family playing hand and foot, pinochle, hearts, shanghai, and canasta. Christmas and Easter were especially fond holidays with family. She touched many lives over the years and all will miss her laugh and care she gave everyone. She is survived by three sons Jim (Sylvia), Bill, and Rick (Pat), 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great, great grandchildren along with sister Maxine Tatro of Yakima and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by Roy in 2002, parents Ben, Martha, sisters Anna Mae and Eva and brothers Joe and Lester. Visitation will be March 11, 2011, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton with services and burial at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett on March 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
