Weekend apartment fire displaces residents

A building fire displaced the residents of multiple units at an apartment complex in Renton on Jan. 12.

Multiple units from Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, the Renton Regional Fire Authority, Skyway Fire and King County Medic One responded to the scene of a 2-alarm apartment complex fire in the 1300 block of South Puget Drive in Renton.

Crews managed to control the fire and smoke and clear the scene, with a majority of residents out in the cold able to return home. No injuries resulted from the fire.

In total, three apartment units cannot be reoccupied, according to the fire departments. The apartment complex and Red Cross are assisting the residents of the unit with housing.
