Monday evening crews will restripe lanes of Rainier Avenue South to direct traffic to the west side of the roadway, part of a multi-million-dollar project to widen Rainier Avenue.

The restriping will direct traffic to the west side of the roadway, between South Seventh Street and South Third Street, unless inclement weather delays the project.

This is the second segment of the lane shift that will provide space for construction activities on the east side of Rainier Avenue. Drivers should expect delays and increased congestion while traffic patterns adjust and should exercise caution when entering or exiting driveways along the corridor, according to project officials.
