A multiple-vehicle collision late Thursday afternoon was blocking the HOT lane and left general-purpose lane of northbound State Route 167 at South 180th Street near Renton, according to the transportation department.

The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. Traffic was backed up about 3 until the accident was cleared at about 4:50 p.m.

The right lane was also partially blocked. Drivers got by using the right lane and shoulder.

The Washington State Patrol responded to the accident scene.
