The Landing in Renton to light holiday tree on Saturday

The Landing in Renton will host its second annual Holiday Tree Lighting Festival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 20).

The family oriented event will feature music from local youth choral groups, holiday face painters, balloon artists, train rides, live reindeer and the lighting of a 40-foot tree. Admission is free.

Last year more than 200 people showed up for the event, organizers expect more this year.

Festivities will begin in the plaza in front of Regal Cinema and a train will ride attendees through out the shopping center. This year’s event features live reindeer from Cougar Mountain Zoo. Handlers will tell the story of the reindeer. Favorite carols will be sung by local area choirs beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event culminates in the lighting of a sustainable tree.

The Landing is located at 1215 North Landing Way in Renton, next to the Renton Boeing plant.
