The Food Network is coming to Renton to help out the Dog & Pony Alehouse and Grill.

Producers, crew and host, Chef Robert Irvine, of the show “Restaurant: Impossible,” will be in Renton Friday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 23 to transform the restaurant into hopefully a profitable, sought after eatery.

The purpose of the show is to makeover a failing restaurant in two days with $10,000 to catapult that restaurant to success. Show producers couldn’t say much about upcoming plans, but Co-Producer Nicholas Smalarz said, “When we look for failing restaurants we look for owners who are really losing money, can not get customers to come in and food (that) has received poor reviews, etc.”

The Food Network is taping the episode on Nov. 22 to 23 and are looking for individuals to help with the renovation of the Dog & Pony Alehouse during that time. Design volunteers will be painting, crafting, constructing, remodeling, cleaning, decorating and other tasks, depending on volunteers’ skill set.

Skilled contractors such as electricians, plumbers and painters, are needed also needed to help out, although all the positions are strictly volunteer positions.

Meals are provided and shifts run 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Nov. 22 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 23. Volunteers should be okay with being on camera and wear comfortable clothing, sneakers or boots with no logos.
