The King County sheriff, county prosecutor and presiding judges of Superior and District courts will hold the second of four town meetings tonight in Skyway.

The town hall meetings, called “Public Safety in Peril,” are designed to bring attention to the effects that proposed multimillion-dollar cuts in the 2009 county budget would have on public safety and the criminal- justice system.

Speaking are Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, Sheriff Sue Rahr, Judge Bruce Hilyer and Judge Barbara Linde.

“These cuts threaten the quality of justice in King County and put the public at risk,” said Rahr. “We want to make sure the public has an opportunity to be heard.”

The town hall meeting is 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Skyway United Methodist Church, 11800 Renton Ave. S., Skyway.
