It’s back to school for about 14,500 students in the Renton School District.

The starting gun will fire off twice.

Elementary school, including sixth grade and high school ninth grade, started Wednesday. Grades seventh and eighth as well as high school grades 10th through 12th will start Thursday.

Sixth and ninth graders get a chance to check out their respective schools earlier than upper class men to get acclimated to their campuses.

The official district enrollment is taken on Oct. 1.
