The State Board of Education will hold a board meeting March 9-10 at Puget Sound ESD in Renton. Public comment is scheduled during the board meeting, but the Board recognizes that those times may not be convenient for working community leaders, so they are holding an additional open forum to gather feedback from members of the community.

All are welcome to attend. The community forum will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 8 at the Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy.

The full meeting will be conducted over the following two days at the Puget Sound ESD, 800 Oakesdale Ave. S.W., Renton.

If you are unable to attend the public comment or community meeting, we are happy to respond to any written questions you may have about the board and its work. Currently, the board is working on important issues affecting the achievement index, school accountability, graduation requirements, opportunity gaps, and student discipline.
