Man trying to break up a fight: At 2:58 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 700 block of Rainier Avenue South, officers responded to a physical assault. Upon arrival, an officer contacted the victim, who said he had intervened in a heated argument between the suspect and a woman. The suspect and a friend then began to assault the victim and fled the scene. Renton Fire responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Co-workers fighting: At 5:13 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 1000 block of Southwest 43rd Street, officers were dispatched to a report of an assault. An officer interviewed the victim, who said he and a co-worker had an argument that escalated after the suspect punched him in the face. The officer interviewed the suspect, who verified the victim’s story. The suspect was booked for fourth-degree assault.
Shots fired: At 4:07 p.m. Aug. 28 at Lake Washington Trail and North Southport Drive, officers were dispatched for reports of several gunshots in the area with no injuries. Upon arrival, an officer made contact with a victim who stated the suspect is a relative of his girlfriend who has been sending him threatening texts. The suspect located the victim after he left work and fired several shots, hitting his vehicle. Officers and Guardian 1 performed an area check, and the suspect was not located. The investigation is ongoing.
Robbery: At 6:35 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 1100 block of Sunset Boulevard Northeast, officers were dispatched to a threat with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect matching the description that had been relayed to dispatchers in his vehicle. He was detained. Another officer contacted one of the victims, who stated the suspect demanded money and beverages for free, then said he had a gun and would kill the victims. The suspect was booked for second-degree attempted robbery.
Stabbing: At 9:33 p.m. Aug. 31 in the 200 block of Williams Avenue South, officers were dispatched to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located the victim on the floor and provided aid until medics arrived. After medics transported the victim, officers interviewed witnesses. Witnesses stated that the victim and the suspect were arguing across the street, and it escalated into a fight. The victim then ran over with a stab wound. The suspect then got in the car and left. An officer responding to the scene located the suspect vehicle driving away from the scene and pulled him over. A witness positively identified the suspect. He was booked for first-degree assault.
