A section of southbound I-405 will be closed this weekend as lane widening efforts continue.

All lanes of southbound I-405 from Coal Creek Parkway to Northeast 30th Street will be fully closed day and night, starting at 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, and lasting until 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13.

Signed detours will be in place to divert traffic.

The closure is due to the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes project, which will add new capacity between SR 167 in Renton and Northeast Sixth Street in Bellevue. One new lane will be added in each direction and combine the existing HOV lane with the new lane to create a dual ETL system.
