As forecast, the snow that fell overnight was melting Wednesday morning, but what remains was still affecting some bus routes and road travel.

The snow has disrupted some bus routes in the Renton area.

The Washington state Department of Transportation was reporting early Wednesday morning in an advisory that drivers would find changing road conditions throughout Puget Sound. Many roads in King and Snohomish County are bare and wet with standing water in places. There is also snow on the shoulders.

Drivers headed north will encounter increasing snow on the roadways. WSDOT trucks continue to treat roadways. Currently, both directions of SR 524 between SR 527 and SR 9 in Bothell are closed due to snow. The I-5 express lanes are open in the southbound direction and will remain open until 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. The I-90 express lanes are open in the westbound direction.

Before hitting the roadways, drivers should check the the state’s website for traffic conditions, monitor the weather and plan to give themselves plenty of time to reach their destination.

The highs today in Renton and for the rest of the week are forecast to be about 50 degrees.
