Sleep Country USA is sponsoring a school supply drive for foster children now through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5.

The retailer is asking that donations of new school supplies be made at any Sleep Country store. The Renton store is  at 1205 N. 10th St., Suite 103 C.

Sleep Country reports that nearly one third of foster children experience ten or more school changes and two thirds  experience at least seven changes from elementary to high school. They estimate with each school change, four to six months of educational progress is lost as the foster children try to acclimate to their new class environment and study schedule.

The retailer is trying to help foster kids achieve scholastic success despite the uphill battle they face.
