The Renton Police Department reported it was searching for two shooting suspects.
According to Renton Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black, just before 5 p.m. Jan. 5, there was a shooting in the 4400 block of NE 12th Street, and when officers arrived on scene, they located a male with non-life-threatening injuries. According to Black, officers immediately rendered aid, while others gathered information.
Black stated that officers learned that there was an argument between three people when a single gunshot was heard, and a male was then heard screaming. Black said witnesses reported seeing two people leaving the scene, possibly in a car, or that they were hiding in a nearby apartment.
“Announcements were made to have all occupants of the apartment vacate. Two people did exit the apartment, but the suspects were not there,” Black stated. “King County’s Guardian One helicopter was available and assisted with the search and with making announcements.”
Black stated that police are currently searching for suspects, but they do not need the community’s assistance at this time.
