Seahawks visit Talbot Hill, Campbell Hill

Seattle Seahawks offensive linemen Rob Sims and Steve Vallos visited Talbot Hill and Campbell Hill elementary schools today as part of the National Football Leagues’ PLAY 60 national youth health and fitness campaign which urges children to get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.

The players, along with the Seahawks mascot Blitz and Sea Gals cheerleaders, talked to students about staying healthy, played with them on the playground and donated sports equipment including basketballs, soccer balls and footballs.

The Seahawks continue to play an important role with students in Renton Schools as they help stress fitness and education as a means to be better citizens., accoding to Randy Matheson, a district spokesman.

Since moving their headquarters and practice facilities to Renton, the Seahawks have worked with Renton School District teachers and school administrators to visit with students at school and to bring large groups of students to the Seahawks facilities to encourage good school attendance, behavior and a commitment to take responsibility for their personal health.
