A number of city facilities are closed Thursday and Renton public-works crews are working around the clock to keep roads open. A map of the Renton’s snowplow routes is available on the city’s website.
Renton and Kent schools are again closed Thursday.
The only road closure Thursday morning is Southeast 192nd Street between Talbot and 102nd Avenue Southeast.
Two daytime warming shelters are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Highway, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Renton Senior Center, 211 Burnett Ave. N.
Here’s a list of what’s closed or on limited operations in Renton Thursday:
• Crews are responding to calls regarding fallen trees and branches and are taking care of these as possible.
• There will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste collection today.
• KCLS library branches in Renton are closed today. Contact KCLS for more information.
• There is no power at the Maplewood Golf Course.
• City of Renton Municipal Court is closed today.
• Renton History Museum is closed today.
• Renton Senior Activity Center will close at 4 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. today. There will be no lunch program.
• All gated parks will remain closed at this time. Crews will evaluate ice conditions in the parking lots and open them when safe.
• Lower walk of the Cedar River Trail is closed between Bronson and Logan. The Cedar River Trail is also closed from I-405 to 131st.
• City of Renton recreation classes are canceled when the Renton School District is closed and therefore are canceled today.
A cold weather shelter at the Harambee Church will remain open Thursday night, Jan. 19, due to expected overnight low temperatures.
