Sartori Education Center graduates nine students

Nine students graduated from the Sartori Education Center last month. The occasion marked a proud achievement for these students at the alternative school that assists youth between the ages of 16 and 21 establish and complete educational goals in high school and post-secondary education, as well as prepare for the working world.

“It is their opportunity to celebrate their hard work and their ability to conquer some of the significant barriers they’ve faced,” said Principal Jay Leviton of the graduation.

When students come to Sartori, it is an opportunity for them to start over having faced personal and academic challenges previously, said Leviton.

He spoke at the ceremony along with Renton Superintendent Dr. Mary Alice Heuschel and graduating student, Elishia Brittney Navarro Sunga.

Graduation ceremonies take place at Sartori in December and June.
