The Renton Youth Advocacy Center will host its gala fundraiser Oct. 4, at the Renton Senior Center. The center provides young adults ages 12 to 17 with free services and a safe place to stay after school.
The event is 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 211 Burnett Ave. N. in Renton. The evening features live entertainment from local youth musicians, keynote speaker King County Superior Court, Juvenile Drug Court Judge Wesley Saint Claire, live and silent auctions and a raffle.
Proceeds from the event will go to help with RYAC operations, including the monthly lease payment to the City of Renton. The center is working on plans to staff a youth employment assistance program.
Funds raised will also support collecting work clothes for youth. RYAC recently received a grant award of computer equipment from Interconnection in Seattle to support the employment assistance program and tutoring at the center.
Tickets can be purchased via the center’s website at www.rentonyac.org.
