Renton Technical College is hosting a rummage sale and donation collection to support its Student Emergency Fund on Nov. 19.
The college is asking community members to donate reusable items that it will then sell to help provide emergency assistance for basic needs such as food and utilities for students.
Donations will be acepted through Nov. 14.
Drop off locations are located on campus at 3000 N.E. Fourth St. in Renton in the Administrative Building I in the cafeteria and in the library building C.
The rummage sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 19 inside the cafeteria in building I.
Examples of acceptable items:
• clothing, accessories, shoes, etc.
• household items: small appliances, dishes
• small furniture (must be under 50 lbs. and in good condition)
• sporting goods, backpacks, tents, camping gear
• entertainment: toys, skates, games, bikes, records, tapes, CDs, DVDs
• small electronics: CD players, DVD players, radios, VCRs, cameras
• arts and hobby: fabric, patterns, arts and crafts, yarn, books, paintings, wall hangings
• school supplies, stationery, photo albums, books
Items the school cannot accept are:
• automotive: parts, tires and batteries
• baby equipment/furniture: car seats, car carriers, play pens, strollers
• firearms and ammunition
• hazardous materials: gases, oils, paint, flammables and poisonous materials
• large appliances: dishwashers, washer/dryers, refrigerators and hot water tanks
