The Rotary Club of Renton has honored its Teachers of the Month for November.

Paulette Manson is a Renton High School art teacher.

Before becoming going into education, she was a Nuclear Medicine Technician in Gary, Ind., as part of an on-the-job training program.

This is Manson’s eighth year teaching in Renton.

She started her undergraduate degree at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, graduating later from the University of Alaska. She then earned a masters in education from the University of Alaska.

Sarah Wylie is a Sierra Heights Elementary first-grade teacher.

Wylie graduated from the University of Puget Sound twice, once for her bachelor of arts degree in comparative sociology, and later a with a master of arts in teaching

This is her third year teaching in the Renton School District.

Melissa McDowell is a Talbot Hill Elementary fifth-grade teacher.

She attended Western Washington University where she majored in Spanish with an elementary K-8 teacher certification.

She later attended Lesley University, earning a masters in curriculum and instruction—integrated teaching through the arts.

She also taught with a multi-age bilingual summer school is Wenatchee.

McDowell has been a teacher in the Renton School District for eight years.

As part of the recognition, teachers attend Rotary’s Teacher of the Month luncheon at Maplewood Golf Course. Each teacher receives $200 for classroom supplies or instructional materials.
