The Rotary Club of Renton has selected its Teachers of the Month for March.
• Allison Ilgenfritz-Hall is a fourth-fifth grade teacher at Renton Academy.
She attended Western Washington University, in Bellingham, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. She received a master’s in special education, emotional behavioral disabilities at the University of Washington. Ilgenfritz-Hall began her teaching experience working in the Peace Corps, teaching English to girls and young women in Bangladesh and also created English communication workshops for college men and women in Bangladesh. She has been a teacher in Renton for three years.
• Andrea Gollob is a fifth-grade teacher at Highlands Elementary School.
She attended Central Washington University (distance program in Seattle) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and elementary education. Gollob continued her education at Lesley University (distance
program in Kent) to earn a master’s in integrating the arts into education. This is her eighth year teaching in Renton.
• Steve Harris is a sixth-grade social studies teacher at Nelsen Middle School.
He attended the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Ore., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Harris also received a master’s degree in teaching from Whitworth College in Spokane. Harris has also held jobs in retail management, maintenance supervision, and sales. In addition to teaching at Nelsen, he also teaches Sunday school and volunteers with local cub scout and boy scout troops. This is Harris’ 15th year teaching in the Renton School District.
The teachers are invited to attend a recognition luncheon held at the Maplewood Golf Course. Each teacher also receives $200 to be used for classroom supplies or instructional materials.
