Rotary Club looking for two host families

The Rotary Club of Renton is accepting applications for two families to host Manuel Roman Murgueitio Jr. from Portoviejo, Ecuador.

The Rotary Club of Renton is accepting applications for two families to host Manuel Roman Murgueitio Jr. from Portoviejo, Ecuador.

Manuel is 17 and speaks fluent English. He is attending Lindbergh High School.

He enjoys competitive swimming, sports and playing the drums. Someday he hopes to study medicine.

Host families are needed from Jan. 1 until April 30, 2009 and from May 1 until July 30, 2009.

Each family is asked to host a student for three to six months of the student’s 12 month Renton stay. Host families are expected to provide room and board as well as include the exchange student in family activities. Host families are screened and a State Patrol background check is required. Host families are not required to be Rotarians.

Host families are not required to have high school-aged children living at home. Young families, empty nesters and couples without children are encouraged to apply. Host families should live close to Lindbergh or be able to provide daily transportation.
