Robbery suspect arrested | Renton police blotter

Driving under the influence: At 5:29 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 10900 block of Southeast 168th Street, an officer witnessed a driver speed by at an exceptionally high rate of speed, estimated to be around 70 mph. The officer caught up with the driver and pulled him over. The driver exhibited signs of impairment. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Car crash: At 11:47 p.m. Nov. 21 at Renton Avenue South and South 321st Street, officers were called to a collision. The driver, traveling west on Renton Avenue South, was making a left turn onto South 132nd Street when he said he was struck by another car traveling east on Renton Avenue South. The driver traveling east on Renton Avenue South said the vehicle pulled in front of them. Both the driver and passenger in the car traveling on Renton Avenue South suffered minor injuries.

Robbery suspect arrested: At 9:43 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 740 block of Rainier Avenue South, an officer conducting a routine patrol through a parking lot was flagged down by a man running from a gas station. The man said the suspect pointed a gun at him while he sat in his car. The officer commanded the suspect to stop, but he refused and kept walking away. Other officers arrived, and the suspect slowly complied and was arrested. Officers located a gun that the suspect had allegedly tried to hide behind a fence. They also recovered items stolen from the victim’s car. He was arrested for first-degree robbery and booked into jail.

Hit-and-run: At 9:20 p.m. Nov. 22 near Talbot Road South and the southbound I-405 off-ramp, officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run collision. The victim stated the suspect fled the scene and headed toward Home Depot. Officers located the heavily damaged vehicle in the Home Depot parking lot. The suspect exhibited signs of impairment and was uncooperative. He was arrested and booked into jail after being cleared of injuries at the hospital.

Shoplifting at Target: At 4:56 p.m. Nov. 22 at Target, an officer walking into the store was approached by loss prevention, who stated that a female inside had concealed items in her purse. The officer remained outside until the suspect exited the store, at which point loss prevention contacted her and brought her back inside. The officer located the stolen item in the suspect’s purse. She was arrested for theft.
