Renton’s spring recycling event is May 5

This one-day event gives residents the opportunity to recycle materials at one convenient location.

It’s almost time for your annual spring cleanup.

The city of Renton is hosing a spring recycle event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 5 at the Renton Technical College’s north parking lot.

The day allows residents to recycle a variety of materials for free. Mattresses and box springs will be accepted at $15 per item.

Items that will not be accepted include garbage, carpet, drywall, windows, latex paint, leaves, grass clippings, small branches, sod, No. 1 and 2 plastic bottles, glass plates, mirrors, windows, glass bottles, cleaning products, oil-based paint, solvents and thinners, fluorescent lights, pesticides and propane tanks.

If you need to dispose of hazardous household products, call the Hazards Line at 206-296-4692 to find proper disposal methods or visit Hazardous Waste Help.

There will be a one trip per household limit. Business waste will not be accepted.
