Washington state’s education office has recognized Kennydale Elementary School as one of the state’s top schools.
Kennydale is being recognized for having students who perform in the top 10 percent of all Title I schools in reading and math, based on state test scores during the past three years. Kennydale is one of 69 schools identified as a 2013-2014 “Reward School.”
“Kennydale Elementary is a school full of talented, compassionate, committed educators and parents who work diligently to increase academic rigor and engage students in meaningful learning,” said Kennydale Principal Bill Tarter. “I am so proud to be a part of a learning community that works this hard, cares this much and is able to affect such wonderful results.”
Reward Schools are leading the reform and improvement efforts across the state and have no significant gaps in performance among subgroups of students, states a district release. This includes no gaps among subgroups of students, including ethnicity, socio-economic status, special education and English Language Learners.
