Renton to turn purple Satuday to drum up support for Relay for Life

Teams participating in the event will distribute flyers and posters and put up balloons throughout the city on Saturday to inform community members of the upcoming Relay for Life event in Renton and to encourage them to take part.

Teams participating in this year’s Relay for Life of Bellevue will be spanning out to all corners of Renton Saturday to help spread awareness of Relay for Life through a Paint the Town Purple campaign.

The Paint the Town Purple campaign is designed to inform the community about the possibility to participate in Relay for Life in Renton on June 8 at the Renton Memorial Stadium.

Teams participating in the event will distribute flyers and posters and put up balloons throughout the city on Saturday to inform community members of the upcoming Relay for Life event in Renton and to encourage them to take part.

The 14 participating teams will start at the Renton Public Library on Mill Avenue at 10 a.m. and then spread out into their respective areas of town to begin “painting the town purple.”

The teams will be stopping by the Renton Landing, the Renton Village Shopping Center, Fairwood Square, Maplewood Golf Course and Wal-Mart, and some teams will visit Tiffany Park and Cascade Park as well. To learn more about the Relay For Life of Renton or create a team, visit www.rentonrelay.org or call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
