Renton to fly flags at half staff to honor fallen state trooper

Renton Mayor Denis Law has directed that all flags at city facilities be flown at half staff in honor of the fallen Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu.

Renton Mayor Denis Law has directed that all flags at city facilities be flown at half staff in honor of the fallen Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu.

State Trooper Radulescu was shot and killed early Thursday, Feb. 23,  during a traffic stop in Kitsap County. Radulescu is the first trooper to be killed in the line of duty since 1999, and the 27th to be killed in the line of duty in Washington State Patrol’s history.

Flags will remain lowered until after the funeral of the fallen officer Friday.
