Renton Technical College is offering a new course for future culinarians. Starting this fall the school will offer an American Culinary Federation apprenticeship.

It is a three-year program with no summers included that is designed to provide students entering the workplace with comprehensive training in the practical and theoretical aspects of work required in a highly skilled profession.

The apprenticeship is made up of a voluntary cooperation between local chapters of the American Culinary Federation, industry and government, the individual hotel or food service establishments and the local school and college systems.

This national apprenticeship program was recognized and awarded a grant from the Department of Labor, according to a release from the college.
