Damien Pattenaude, the Renton School District’s chief academic officer, and most recently principal at Renton High School, has been appointed by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee to serve on the state’s Professional Educator Standards Board.
Pending congressional approval of the four-year appointment, Pattenaude will serve on the twelve-member board responsible for setting and upholding high standards for the state’s teaching profession and ensuring that students encounter high-quality educators throughout their school experience.
In announcing the appointment, Governor Inslee expressed his trust in Pattenaude’s competence, ability and the ethical approach needed to help set clear and high standards to ensure all children achieve at high levels.
