Renton Police search for suspect in alleged rape at dog park

A woman was assaulted July 4.

Renton Police are looking for a suspect who is accused of raping a woman July 4 in the Cedar River Dog Park.

At 1:13 a.m. July 4, Renton Police were dispatched to Liberty Park after a woman contacted strangers in the area to tell them she had been sexually assaulted. When police contacted the woman, she told them she had been strangled and sexually assaulted at the Cedar River Dog Park by a man she had met earlier in the evening.

According to police, she only knew the suspect by his street name, “Get Money.”

The suspect also reportedly took her gold 2001 Toyota RAV-4 with the Washington state license plate CGS5660. Police are still looking for that vehicle.

Officers later determined that they had in fact spoken to the suspect while investigating the area; however, they did not have enough information to identify the suspect or have cause to arrest him. Police released body camera photos of the suspect.

Renton Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Billingsley at lbillingsley@rentonwa.gov and reference case 23-7583.
