Renton Police look for suspects who stole from mourning mother

Two suspects took the victim’s purse from her car as she visiting her son’s grave.

Renton Police Department is seeking help identifying two car prowlers suspected of forgery from early September.

On Sept. 14 around 4 to 4:30 p.m., the victim was mourning at the grave site of her 11-year-old son in Greenwood Memorial Park when the theft occurred.

According to police, while the mother was at the grave, two car prowlers drove by and took her purse from her vehicle. The suspects then proceeded to use the victim’s credit card and ring up over $1,300 worth of goods at seven different stores, both in Highlands and in the south end.

Renton police are looking for any information that may be of assistance, as well as the identity of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Mark Coleman at 425-430-7538 or email via mcoleman@rentonwa.gov, using reference Case 18-11578.
