Renton man killed in motorcycle accident

A female passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, but is currently in stable condition.

A Renton man was killed and a female passenger sustained life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Bellevue.

The Bellevue Police Department responded to a report of a crash in the 15400 block of Lake Hills Boulevard just before 8:30 p.m. Officers reported a 2016 Ducati motorcycle in the roadway and a deceased male. He was later determined to be the driver of the motorcycle.

The victim has been identified only as a 53-year-old Renton man. Police had not released his identity at press time.

His passenger, a 53-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition, according to police.

Police investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Lake Hills Boulevard and struck a median in the roadway while attempting to pass another vehicle. They do not suspect impairment as a factor in the collision.

This is an ongoing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
