Renton man killed in crash early Monday on I-405 offramp to SR 167

A 58-year-old Renton man was killed early Monday morning when his vehicle left the offramp from southbound Interstate 405 to southbound State Route 167, according to the Washington State Patrol.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY: The man was identified by the King County Medical Examiner as Gilbert D. Bustamante. The medical examiner ruled his death natural due to underlying health issues.

A 58-year-old Renton man was killed early Monday morning when his vehicle left the offramp from southbound Interstate 405 to southbound State Route 167, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released, pending notification of his family.

The accident occurred at about 12:20 a.m. when the man’s PT Cruiser grazed the left barrier of the offramp and came to rest in a grassy median, according to the state patrol. The driver died at the scene; he was wearing his seatbelt.
