A Renton man, who is also the suspect in a Seattle robbery case and burglaries in the Puget Sound, including four in Renton, was charged as a suspect in a Bellevue jewelry store robbery.
On Aug. 29, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Patrick S. Maisonet, 29, of Renton, with second-degree robbery, stemming from a Nov. 12, 2024, incident where prosecutors allege that Maisonet acted as the getaway driver while a then 16-year-old male suspect and another unknown female robbed a Bellevue jewelry store.
According to charging documents, officers tied Maisonet to the crime through phone records and ankle monitor data that showed he traveled from his Renton home to the location of the alleged robbery when he got permission to leave his house for a job interview.
According to Renton Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black, the department’s special operations group arrested Maisonet on Aug. 21 on a $350,000 warrant. Black said that Maisonet is a suspect in a series of burglaries around the Puget Sound, including four in Renton.
Detectives referred charges to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office spokesperson Casey McNerthney said he believes there will be an update on a charging decision for the cases referred by the Renton Police Department on Sept. 4.
According to McNerthney, Maisonet has an ongoing robbery charge from May 3, 2024, in which he’s a suspect in an alleged armed robbery in the 6200 block of Beacon Avenue South in Seattle. McNerthney said that the court initially held Maisonet on a $500,000 bail, which was later reduced to $50,000.
McNerthney said that Maisonet posted bail and was put on electronic home detention, but on Nov. 21, 2024, he did not respond to a report of his ankle bracelet being removed. Maisonet was then charged with second-degree escape in February 2025 and failed to communicate with the court until he was arrested on Aug. 21.
According to the King County Adult and Juvenile Detention lookup portal, Maisonet is held at the King County Correctional facility on $750,000 bail. Including the other crimes he is charged with or being investigated for, Maisonet has a total bail of $2,265,000, according to the jail lookup portal.
Details of the incident
On Nov. 12, 2024, officers responded to a report of a robbery at Porcello Jewelers, 10222 NE Eighth Street in Bellevue, where a young male snatched a $30,000 watch, ran to a car and then slammed the car door on two employees’ arms who tried pulling the suspect out of the car. Documents state that the male was 16 years old at the time.
The juvenile suspect came into the jewelry store wearing a button-up shirt and told a clerk that he was looking to buy his first nice watch. Documents also state that the juvenile suspect put on a watch worth $30,000, gave it back to the clerk, and then, when the clerk went to grab a different watch, he grabbed the first watch and ran out the door.
Documents state that moments before the juvenile ran out of the store, a young female opened the door to the store and then ran with the juvenile suspect to the getaway vehicle. Documents allege that Maisonet was the driver of the getaway vehicle. Another employee got in front of the getaway vehicle and was almost run over when the vehicle fled the scene.
Maisonet was further corroborated as the driver of the getaway vehicle when a man whom officers believed was Maisonet was on a video call with the juvenile suspect at a separate jeweler about half-hour before the robbery at Porcello Jewelers. Documents state that the juvenile asked to see a $30,000 diamond ring, but Maisonet told him they could actually spend $100,000. The juvenile suspect told the jeweler that Maisonet was his uncle.
Documents state that the shop clerk said she became suspicious and told the juvenile suspect that he would have to make an appointment and return to see a piece of jewelry of that price. She said the juvenile left his contact details, but never returned. Those contact details were later confirmed to be Maisonet’s.
Video footage from the jeweler, where the juvenile suspect was on a video call with someone thought to be Maisonet, was recovered. In that video, the man in the video call is believed to be Maisonet, according to documents.
Documents state that further evidence linked Maisonet to the crime when his ankle monitor GPS showed that he traveled to the location of the robbery and then back to his Renton address when it occurred. Documents state that he obtained permission to leave his home because he claimed to have a job interview in Bellevue.
