Renton High School marking its 100th birthday May 7

The Centennial of Renton High School is fast-approaching, or, perhaps better said, it took 100 years to get here.

Friends of Renton High School have spent the last several months planning a  celebration, including honoring some well-known Renton High grads, such as Mark Prothero, a Kent attorney, and Ron Crockett, owner of Emerald Downs racetrack in Auburn.

Daytime activities at Renton High, 400 S. Second St., are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. There’s a reception at 5 p.m. The banquet, which will include honoring 22 outstanding Renton High graduates, starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $65 each.
